To Save a Life Movie Review

To Save a Life is about Jake Tyler, who seemed to have it all: the right friends, the scariest eyes, a basketball scholarship, and a nagging girlfriend. But everything changes when his friend Roger, whom he has been neglecting, commits suicide at his school. This forces Jake to go on a journey for redemption (or something like that) and help others around him through God, and it eventually begins to threaten everything he values.

Before I start my review, let me just say that I am not against t… Continue

Legion Movie Review

Legion is an action/horror/thriller/shitfest in which God loses faith in man and sends angels down to kill us all. A rebellious angel named Michael (Paul Bettany) cuts off his wings in opposition to God's will, and he goes to the Mojave Desert to protect a group of people, including a pregnant-out-of-wedlock woman whose child may be the key to saving the world... from God... yes, that was the actual plot.

You can probably tell from the plot description that I FUCKING HATE this movie. But I shou… Continue

The Book of Eli Movie Review

The Book of Eli (or The Movie Where Everyone Whispers) stars Denzel Washington as a survivor of a war that has brought on the apocalypse and protector of the world's last Bible, which he believes needs to be taken to an unnamed location. Carnegie (Gary Oldman), the mayor of a makeshift town, wants to get his grubby little hands on it because so that he can gain control over the weak-minded and desperate. Oh, and Mila Kunis fits in here somewhere, too.

The Book of Eli is essentially a post-apoca… Continue

Avatar review

On Tuesday, January 12th, I saw James Cameron's lastest blockbuster hit, Avatar. I saw it at the Bridgeport Regal Theater in Imax 3-D, to have the most enjoyable movie experience as possible. So I went in hoping that Avatar would take me to a whole new world and I was not even slightly disappointed.

Avatar has proven to be a highly entertaining flick and an artistic breakthrough with it's motion capture CGI animation. Not since Star Wars have movie-goers ever been brought to an alien world that… Continue

The Spy Next Door Movie Review

The Spy Next Door stars Jackie Chan as Bob Ho, a CIA spy who retires from the business to settle down and propose to his next-door girlfriend Gillian (Amber Valetta). There's just one problem: her kids hate him. Bob eventually gets the chance to watch the kids while Gillian is away. But when one of the kids accidentally downloads a top secret file, Bob's longtime nemesis (who had recently escaped custody) pays a visit to the family.

When I was young, the only movies I ever wanted to watch were… Continue
